Vegan Beauty

While in Los Angeles I stopped by 100% Pure and got some free samples of super fruits scrub and red wine resveratrol scrub and mask.

  2. Here’s a great one! Filling the sink with hot water and dunk your wash cloth in start with your face and scrub your whole body. This is for when you want to really exfoliate your whole body. Of course you could add things to the hot water like oils, epsom salts etc. Who needs all that jazz when you Sherri are on the road. This is a great way to get your whole body to glow…

  3. Sheri, LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog & thanks. PLEASE stop using Earth balance though (“butter”) because it has Palm Oil in it’s ingredients: a) palm products are bad for the heart and b) palm tree plantations around the world are destroying habitats of native animals & plants… use good old vegetable oil, not palm oil.
thanks & best to you on this blog

    • You’re incorrect about the palm oil, I suggest you do your research. http://earthbalancenatural.com/responsibility/palm-oil/ “Thirty percent of our palm oil comes from Brazil. Our Brazil-sourced palm oil is 100% organic and is used in all of our organic products (and because orangutans are not native to South America, the Brazilian palm industry does not adversely impact their wellbeing). The remaining 70% of our palm oil comes from responsible sources in peninsular Malaysia (also a non-native orangutan habitat), which are all members of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the leading global organization developing and implementing global standards for sustainable palm oil production. We insist on continuing assurances from our suppliers that all palm fruit oil purchased for Earth Balance®complies with the RSPO policies, and we are committed to terminating any suppliers that violate these policies.”
Sadly SMZ will learn of the vegan nazis and trolls while running this blog. Many vegans are extreme and feel the need to nit pick others vegans for not being “vegan enough,”…

    • @Ana, Willow, and Deborah: I realize this thread was from over 3 months ago, but saw the snippy replies so had to add my 2 cents. The palm oil problem isn’t as simple as you might think just because you read EarthBalance’s PR blurb; please read the following for the other side to this:
      http://savingwild.com/2014/10/08/what-is-sustainable-palm-oil/
And I see nothing wrong with what Ana said here, she was just trying to inform others on an important issue…no need to be calling her a vegan nazi or troll, while possibly behaving like one yourself in doing so 🙂

      • Honestly you and all the other vegans who tell people not to use earth balance should get over yourselves! It should be good enough what she is doing. Get off your high horse.

      • @Willow: I’ve told no one what to use or not use here and am not criticizing Sheri Moon in the slightest, but only provided some information showing another side to this issue other than the company’s. #3 in the linked article from savingwild deals with the “sustainable” palm farming issue. What’s wrong with sharing information? It seems you’re the one up on that high horse you’re talking about, and with a big chip on your shoulder too.

    • Hiya, obviously I cant speak for Sherri but im transitioning at the moment and I’ve found what has helped the most is finding vegan alternatives to my faves… The latest being cheeseburgers made with black bean patties and dairy free, soy free cheese…. Rediculously close to the real thing 🙂

  5. HELLO. a great way to care for your whole body is to do a dry brush scrub from shoulders to toes, circular motions. then jump in the shower and do whatcha do…use raw coconut oil to moisturise the skin and face in shower, rinse. i’m going back to using natural soaps made in india: sandle wood is my fave. i use to to wash my hair. then raw coconut oil to conditon. if you have grey hair or beginning to grey out…start everyday with a shot of wheat grass. its not only good for you inside but helps stop the greying process and will turn your grey back to its natural colour. a very slow process of course but a good way to keep healthy.

  7. A really awesome way to cleanse your face and know exactly what you’re putting on it and making it 100% possible to find out where/how it was sourced is to try the oil cleansing method! I buy fair trade organic pumpkin seed oil and steam cleanse it off/out every night. It’s like a spa in my totally non-spa bathroom! Especially if you’re living on film sets 🙂
